This one thing can change your life (Coaching S.O.S - Part 10)

The most important thing in life is to be able to live happily and serve our purpose on this planet, and enjoy the journey as we go along. All of this depends on one thing - PERSPECTIVE. To lay emphasis on how PERSPECTIVE plays such an important role in our lives, read this piece of poetry below, and see how it connects to your own life.

A game of 'Perspective'

We all play;

As imperative in our lives

as to a building is brick & clay.

We perceive each thing

the way we like;

To see a cloud smiling

Or assume the rain to be crying

Our perceptions define

the person we are;

The beauty or the beast

or something Other which is bizarre

These perceptions & beliefs

Define our determination;

Our Outlook towards life,

Our approach to hurdles

Some people do it for fun,

That they perceive everything to be negative;

To go on to write disastrous things

To induce pessimism in everyone else

You may say “its OK”

When I may say “Its marvellous”;

And you may say “Its correct”

When I say “Its unjust”

Conflicts arise at this point

Only if ego couples with perception

When Human beings are unable to differ

Between self pride and a matter of opinion

Each one has an independent personality

And an independent thinking too;

But what we must learn is to give respect

which towards the other person is due!

Perceptions can be quite deceptive

When we let ego rule our better half;

It is then that we may hurt ourselves

Or someone else at large

Perception is a tool we own

We can use it the way we like,

But this alone can have the power

To create optimists of a kind

In the end it is all about

Keeping hope and faith,

For some may wish upon falling stars

While others perceive them as pieces apart!
